Legalised gambling has always been a controversial issue in Japan. Many people believe that gambling is not accepted in the society. However in my opinion I agree with the statement. I have 3 reasons for this.

Firstly, the gambling creates employment. For example, the casino needs machine maintenance staff, cashiers, security guards, and cocktail waitresses, etc,. It also has restaurants and uses cooks, waiters and waitresses.

Secondly, gambling can attract tourists to such cities like Las Vegas. Many Japanese gamblers go to casino places like Soul, Macao,Las Vegas. They spend a great amount of money there not only on the gambling but also on hotels, restaurants, show businesses, souvenirs.

Thirdly, the gambling brings in a lot of money for the Technology industry. The pachinko parlor machines have been using the state of the art gadgets. Therefore, many electronics companies have been developing more inciting machines. It is the same as on the casino machines. The industry is making a lot of money.

The pachinko brings 230 billion USD industry into Japanese economy. The car maker Toyota makes around 270 billion USD a year. At least economically it has a very positive effect on the Japanese society.
