Students learn classical literature throughout their school curriculum. Many people think this subject is useless in life. However I agree that classical literature still has a place in the modern classroom. In this talk, I will explain my reasons.

Firstly, we are able to talk about it with foreign people. Since we always lack common topics when socializing with foreign clients after work, classical literature is a very elegant topic to break the ice. In this holiday season it will be “A Christmas Carol” because this is a classic Christmas story.

Secondly, Classical literature contains a lot of helpful aphorisms. Those aphorisms will always come up to your mind when you find yourself in the same situation as the story, then it will encourage you to take appropriate actions or think like the character.

Classical literature is history and history repeats itself. There are a lot of things we can learn from reading/studying classical literature.
