We still have a lot of crimes committed today, and because of this reason, there are a lot of surveillance cameras that are installed in public places. This has caused controversy and many people do believe that these cameras should be installed. However I oppose to it and i’ll tell you why.

Firstly, those cameras may invade people’s privacy. There are no guarantee that those cameras are only used for crime privation or crime solving. Some authorities might use those for their interests.

Secondly, those cameras may lead to a police nation. The government is able to use those cameras for monitoring people’s activity and abuse the images for cracking down on the dissidents.

Thirdly, there are possibility that camera data are intercepted by some malicious personal and used for criminal activities.

High technologies have brought us a lot of benefits but we should not revere those for blindly.
