課題:Are large corporations solely interested in generating profits?
以下がサンプル例文です。
There are many large corporations in the world. They sometimes make donations to charities or run public facilities, like, concert halls, art galleries, etc.. In my opinion, they are solely interested in generation profits. Let’s look at this in more detail.
Firstly, they must generate profits for their share holders. Most corporations cannot exist without share holders. They gather capital from share holders as an indirect means of finance and use that capital for their corporate activity. The profits are provided to shareholders on a regular basis in the form of dividends.
Secondly, they need to generate profits so as to provide employees with secure jobs. If companies cannot make profits for consecutive years, then they cannot afford to keep their employees. Firing employees brings a negative image to the corporation and makes it difficult for the company to operate effectively.
Thirdly, companies need healthy profits to stave off takeovers by other companies. An organization that is taken over by another will be dissolved and not only will top management members lose their jobs, but also rank-and-file members of staff.
Large corporations are solely interested in generating profits as that is how capitalism works. This is merely a fact and there is no need to assign blame.
