The United States has been dominating the world since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Many people believe that the world is stable under the one superpower regime. I think the pros of having only one superpower outweigh the cons, I’ll tell you why.

Firstly, the world is not divided under the one superpower regime. During the cold war we had western countries and eastern counters. There was less commerce between the two parts. People in western countries had difficulty traveling to eastern countries, vice versa.

Secondly, the world does not compete the nuclear arms race. We still have nuclear arms now but it is restricted by the UN resolution and only permanent members of the UN Security Council are allowed to have those. People do not worry about nuclear warfare anymore.

Thirdly, many people are enjoying a rather peaceful world. We have ethnic conflicts and terrorism, but we do not see any symptoms of WW3.
