I believe art is a good way of promoting international understanding for the following reasons.

Firstly, People from overseas can get to know about the history and culture of another country through appreciating the arts. For example Japan has some unique arts such as the tea ceremony and flower arrangement. Many foreigners are very interested in learning how to make Matcha and flower arrangement, which helps them better understand Japanese culture.

Secondly, Art has no boundaries and people around the world love quality art. Today’s society is rich in famous music, drawings and novels, with a history stretching back hundreds of years. Shakespeare’s works, for example, greatly influence many generations in the world. By reading and researching his works, people come to understand not only the culture and history of England at that time, but also the essence of English literature.

For the reasons just mentioned, I think the arts are a good way to promote international understanding.
