I do not believe the extinction of some plant and animal species is inevitable. I have a few reasons to support my opinion.

Firstly, advanced agricultural practice helps to prevent endangered species from extinction. A lot of countries are adopting genetic engineering in farming. The amount of pesticides has been reduced considerably because GM crops are far more resistant to pests and diseases. Consequently, soil erosion and water contamination have been much improved. Plants and animals can live in their preferred habitats, surviving with the fresh air and clean water.

Secondly, Both public and private sectors are becoming concerned about wildlife conservation. They set up funding to research and protect endangered species. Also scientists are making efforts to raise people’s awareness of the importance of endangered species. Many people have voluntarily participated in activities to protect wildlife.

In conclusion, I feel human beings can prevent the extinction of endangered species as long as we try our best to protect the environment.
