課題:Should developed nations encourage immigration from other countries?

以下がサンプル例文です。

While some people argue immigration may lead to side effects on society, I believe that advanced countries should promote immigration for the following reasons.

Firstly, the most obvious advantage of immigration is that it contributes to resolving labor shortages in developed nations. With the low birth rate and aging population, the demand for people of all types in the workplace has been rapidly rising over recent decades. Therefore, I think it is up to governments to encourage more people to immigrate in order to solve labor shortages in advanced countries.

Secondly, immigrants are an important economic source of most developed nations’ pension funds. As the working population is shrinking(dwindling) and the number of elderly people is swelling, fewer and fewer people pay into pension funds, thus causing a big burden on government budgets. However, immigrants often spend years paying into pension funds, which helps solve the pressing problem a great deal. So, I think a steady influx of immigrants makes a financial contribution to Japanese welfare system.

Finally, Immigration will enrich cultural diversity. Some people in developed nations tend to view immigrants as outsiders. I feel If we want to be a truly international country, we need to welcome people from different cultures. By simply studying foreign languages, we cannot better understand the outside world, but rather, people should learn to socialize and empathize with people from abroad.

Based on the above-mentioned reasons, I maintain that immigration boosts developed nations both economically and culturally. If we are to prosper in the coming decades, our government ought to welcome immigration from other countries.
