I believe democracy should be promoted worldwide for the following reasons.

Firstly, democracy contributes to social stability. Democratic governments have a healthy and effective legislative system where every policy or reform comes out through the ‘will of people’ as their views are reflected via their elected representatives.

Secondly, democracy is beneficial for economic growth. Democratic governments encourage their citizens to carry out free trade. It greatly helps revitalize(boost) the economy of the country. Governments usually don’t place restrictions on free trade as long as people do not violate(break) the law.

Finally, democracy respects and protects human rights. In democratic nations, people have freedom of speech and the right to vote. People in these countries can exchange information and view points freely.

For the reasons just mentioned, I hold that democracy should be promoted around the world.
