課題:Can international terrorism ever be eliminated?

以下がサンプル例文です。

While a great deal of effort is being made to prevent terrorism, I feel it is unlikely to be totally eradicated in the near future for the following reasons.

Firstly, Looking back at history, a lot of religious, ethnic and racial clashes occurred centuries ago. Even in the 21st century, they are becoming more and more serious. Hostility and acrimony between ethnic and political groups have become commonplace in the Middle East, and so the United Nations frequently intervenes in mediation(arbitration).

Secondly, military action cannot effectively reduce terrorism and it often inflames (deteriorates/worsens)the situation. For example, the US invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan failed to deter terrorism in either of these countries. On the other hand, such military actions provoked radical people to join terrorist groups, thus accelerating the spread of terrorism to Syria and other nations.

Finally, financial burden makes it difficult for us to get rid of (eradicate)terrorism. Some people argue surveillance technology and other security enhancements can effectively prevent terrorism, yet beefing up security in every potential terrorist area is too costly to be feasible.

Based on the above-mentioned reasons, I conclude that international terrorism is unlikely to be done away within the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, we should never give up making every effort to keep peace and order in the world.
