The rain forests covers about 6% of the Earth’s surface and they provide sanctuary for animals. They also benefit people by providing food, medicinal plants and oxygen. Many people think that it too late to save the world’s rainforests and I have the same opinion. Let me tell you more about it./Here I will speak more about it.

Firstly, people need the land of the rainforest for agriculture and livestock production. People convert forest land into agricultural land, plantation or pastures for producing food. Since world population is increasing rapid pace more rainforests will be deforested.

Secondly, people need the trees from the rain forests for fuel. Since oil prices tend to fluctuate because of political reasons and other renewable energy sources are still in the early development stages, this traditional biofuel will have a stable demand coming decades in the form of charcoal or timber.

Thirdly, people need rain forests for infrastructure, such as roads, dams. People living in the rain forests are urbanizing and they use western standard basic necessities like tap water, cars, electricity.

It is sad to watch that our precious natural resources are being destroyed. But the destruction of the rain forest will be hard to stop.
