新聞BBC『Winter wave of coronavirus ‘could be worse than first’』
英国では来冬のCoronavirus（新型コロナウイルス）第二波は１月、２月にピークを迎え、24,500人から251,000人が死亡する恐れがあるとする記事（『Winter wave of coronavirus ‘could be worse than first’』）です。現在は落ち着いており７月に入ってからは1,100人程度の死者で余裕があるので、今のうちに来るべき蔓延に向けて下記のような準備を進めることを提案しています。
- increasing capacity of the test-and-trace programme, to cope with the overlapping symptoms of coronavirus, flu and other winter infections（新型コロナウイルスと症状の共通するインフルエンザや冬の伝染病に対処するために、検査と追跡システムの機能を上げる）
- getting more people vaccinated against flu（より多くの人にインフルエンザ・ワクチンを接種する）
- ensuring hospitals and care homes have enough personal protective equipment (PPE)（医療機関の防護アイテムを蓄えておく）
- creating coronavirus-free zones in hospitals and care homes, to halt infections（医療機関での感染防止のために、無菌空間を作る）
まだワクチンの開発は期待できませんので、日本でも各家庭で自衛の準備が必要なようです。
