I agree infectious diseases will become a serious problem in the foreseeable future. I will clarify my reasons as below.

Firstly, The coronavirus started around in the last December have deprived a large number of people of their lives. What is worst is, the number of contaminated people is continually increasing throughout the world. Although scientists are striving to find the vaccine and preventive measures against the virus, it seems not to be effective in halting the infection.

Secondly, This devastation is seriously affecting people’s daily lives and the economy of the world. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, people cannot travel, enjoy eating out and visit friends as usual. A lot of restaurants, hotels and airplane companies are at the brink of bankruptcy. Other industries like apparel, real estate and bank are operating in the red, which results in layoffs.

Finally, and most importantly is, the aftermath brought by infectious diseases like the coronavirus will adversely influence the world in the long term. Some scientists even predict that the coronavirus contaminated disease cannot be cured by the end of this century by the current medical ability. Also quite a few famous economists say the depression will not be improved at least within 5 years. This gloomy atmosphere are definitely weakening the spirits of people. A lot of people lose the drive to work. I think it is the most worrying problem caused by infectious diseases.

In conclusion, I firmly believe infectious diseases will become a bigger problem in the coming decades based on the above mentioned reasons.
