環境活動家であるGreta Thunbergさんの母国らしい記事（『Swedish city to dump tonne of chicken manure in park to deter visitors』）です。毎年この時期に北欧などではWalpurgis Night（ヴァルプルギスの夜）と呼ぶ季節の変わり目のお祭りが開催されます。しかし、今年はCoronavirus（新型コロナウイルス）の蔓延を防止する目的でSwedish（スウェーデン）のLund市では市民が集まる公園にchicken manure（鶏糞肥料）を散布することとしました。約３万人の人出が見込まれる公園を数トンの鶏糞で覆い、汚泥と悪臭とで人を追い払うのが目的です。当地方の環境委員であるGustav Lundblad氏は「芝生の肥料になり、人は座ってビールを飲もうと思わない、唯一の問題は悪臭が公園だけには留まらないことだ（一部、意訳）」と述べております。

スウェーデンでは50人以上の人が集まることを禁じていますが、これは指令ではありません。国民の自発的な対応に任せております。商店、レストラン、ジムは営業を続けております。

Sweden has banned planned gatherings of more than 50, but asked – rather than ordered – people to observe physical distancing, avoid non-essential travel, work from home and stay indoors if they are elderly or ill. Shops, restaurants and gyms have remained open.
